QUESTION: Thanks for answer is it necessary to get initiated in mantra ,which type of person should be a guru, can one get vedio initiation.
Answer
1. Depending on the kind of Yoga and the method employed by the Guru, initiation into a Mantra may or may not be necessary.
2. One who is self-realized (has attained to God-realization), selfless and thus capable of transmitting 'Vidya' (knowledge of the absolute reality) from the Almighty is fit to be a Guru. The true Guru is always an Urdhvarethas and a representation of the Almighty Brahman himself. He is not interested in money, name, fame, praise and other worldly attributes.
3. Such a Guru can transmit his blessings astrally (through the medium of space) if he is physically far away, or cosmically (across the cosmos) if he has departed from Earth, to the chosen disciple. Why then would he require video communication?
