Mitahara and Stomach

Dhananjay • 6/6/2015
Question

Beloved Dhananjay,

I want to live by every rule to the best of my ability.

My stomach tightens shortly after finishing eating. 1) Is this normal or have I over eaten?

Measuring enough food to fill half the stomach is tough. 2) Is it better to stay safe and eat less than half a stomachful and snack later if I am hungry?

I read online that my stomach was the size of my fist. I may be over eating every meal, but my stomach gets tight even after a small dinner. I barely eat anything for dinner. My body won't allow me to.

3) Should I limit my food consumption to make sure that I am hungry by lunch and dinner time? My logic is that if I can suffer through some hunger every now and then, my craving will dissipate at a faster rate.

Answer

One should neither overeat nor starve. Food should be moderate, giving a pleasant, yet not heavy feeling. Do that much and focus on Sadhana

ॐ तत् सत्
