Brahmacharya and emptiness meditation

Dhananjay • 10/1/2014
Question

Hello SIr, in ancient taoist and zen texts they say that to cultivate spirituality and realization of the self what is needed is brahmacharya (discipline) and emptiness meditation. If one during meditation is able to reach and maintain a empty state of mind they call Tao, the 3 energies will sublimate by themselves and one reach the self that way. Do you agree or this teaching is false? WHat is the main difference with indian yoga?

Answer

When one merges the mind into the Atman (self), it is meditation. There, there is no body, no mind & no awareness of the world and its phenomenon. Pure consciousness alone exists, infinite, complete and of the nature of bliss. Calling it emptiness or something else or not calling it anything at all makes no difference.
