Breaking Ego and ritualism

Dhananjay • 5/8/2014
Question

1) Should one urinate in his pants at the office and blame the bladder? Should one tell his boss and family how he used to masturbate? Should one pretend to fall at an important meeting? Should one embarass himself during public speaking? If not, why not?

2) Apart from sadhana, how does one develop titiksha (endurance) to the highs and lows of life? It seems the perfect day ends on a horrible note and the worst of days ends happily.

3) What does one do when told off without justification?

4) What does one do when he gets uncomfortable when another person stares at his food?

5) I prefer the path of ritualism such as sandhya, prayer etc rather than yoga (a choice is necessary for both are demanding). Will this take me to yuj? If not, why not?

Answer

1. True Titiksha (endurance) comes when one learns to let go the one who has to endure.

2. The path taken does not matter, as long as the end is annihilation of the Ego, which is experiencing all these emotions & asking all these queries. So strive in that direction, setting all things aside. No more queries will then remain.
