Physical vs mental Brahmacharya

Dhananjay • 2/17/2014
Question

Hi Sir, Do having much sexual desires brings loss of energy in a subtle level even if no ejaculation of seed take place? Can you see benefits after some weeks of practice?

Answer

1. There is only one kind of Brahmacharya. It occurs when one merges his mind into the Atman (self) in thought, word and deed. Anything else is not Brahmacharya.

2. Sexual desires are to be overcome by gaining 'Gnyana' (knowledge of the truth) & by transmuting energy into higher domains, so as to realize the self. If the same is not carried out, the energy eventually gets lost (first mentally & later physically) through some means or the other. Therefore, Brahmacharya is to be practiced in thought, word and deed.
