Races & spirituality
Question
Hello,
Is there difference between let say an Indian or Africans or Europeans or man and women if you cultivate spirituality? I mean why some countries produced spiritual beings and teachings and others no? Like Africa do not have a tradition of masters at least they are not known. Some say Yoga is for hindus and not fit for others. Can you explain the differences by cultural development or races?

Answer
1. People occupying different evolutionary states exist in all races. Some races are known for people of a particular kind of temperament while other races have another set of traits. All these however are only the coverings of Maya around the Atman (pure self) which is beyond caste, creed, color, race, gender and specie. The pure self within all is the infinite soul which is beyond these ramifications of Maya and no different from the Lord.
Even in the Bible, the very same truth has been dealt with. The biblical statement I AM THAT I AM - EXODUS (Chap. 3) exacerbates this truth. It means that the self itself is the Lord and no different. All religions directly or indirectly lead to the same objective. There is one God and the self is no different from HIM.
2. Yoga is for all those who want to realize the non-duality of their self with God. It is for all those who aspire to know their self and attain to their true state of being. Those who work diligently in this direction to know who they are are Yogi-s, be they of any race.
