Concentration with support and without support
Question
In Yoga, concentration on objects gives power to the subject who is meditating. 1- Is it the object that gives power to the subject or the power are already in the mind and object only serves as points of reference to the mind? 2-Concentration without object is the only way to self-realization?
Answer
1. There is no power in either the object, the mind or the body. All power is only in the Atman (self), which is an indivisible part of THAT-Supreme.
2. Through concentration on an object, a minuscule part of THAT energy is focused through the nature of the desired object, manifesting as the same.
The Self is neither the subject, nor the object. It alone is the truth. Therefore, merging one's mind into the truth is the way to realize oneself. All other methods culminate into this.
