Fate & Brahmacharya
Question
Sir,
Are there very few people who realise the value of brahmacharya. Is it their destiny that they come to know about it ? Are those people who realise their wrongs and turn to brahmacharya " chosen ones" ???
Answer
The Jiva (embodied soul) perseveres in Brahmacharya when it has started getting close to that stage in evolution whereupon reversal into its default state of Atman has begun. Till this stage is reached, the embodied soul occupied in the offerings of Samsâra (dualistic world of manifestation) is involved in matter and the senses, wrongly assuming them to be sources of pleasure. When the karmic stage is ripe for the Jiva to atone for its sins, cleanse them and reclaim its original and pure stage of oneness with the Lord, the boat called Brahmacharya appears, which the Jiva then boards. It is not easy to board or sail in this boat which is destined for the land of immortality and liberation. But the Jiva having realized that there is no other way struggles and perseveres to finally succeed.
This realization of the inevitability of Brahmacharya aimed at overcoming and becoming independent of the senses is governed by destiny which is the result of ones past karma and the will of God. HE decides when each Jiva is ready for the same and makes it develop affinity towards this mode of life. Once chosen this way by HIM, the Jiva will tread this path without choice. There is no other way out but to take it to completion through self-realization. The ramblings of the ego to escape cannot work. Even if the ego does manage to deviate or break free of this path, it is pushed back into the practice after realizing the mistake with suffering. HE brought us into this Samsâra to make the Jiva realize its default state of soverignity. HE has brought us here with a purpose and that purpose will be taken to its final state through Brahmacharya and Atma Gnyana (realization of the absolute reality) that comes with self-realization. That which HE wishes occurs in this Universe and that which HE does not will not transpire, try how hard one may to do the opposite.
One should be happy and grateful that he has reached the stage where the karma-s are ripe for complete removal and one will be allowed to come out of this dream called life and establish oneself in the reality of his true self. It is a matter of celebration, having being chosen by God to come out of this limitless ocean of transmigratory existence filled with suffering. Inevitable perseverance in Brahmacharya is an indication that there are countable numbers of births remaining for the Jiva in this ocean and that the process of working for the release which is not very far away has begun. If very honest and unbroken practice of Yoga, Brahmacharya and acquirement of the knowledge of reality is obtained with zealous efforts, the job can be accomplished soon by HIS grace, for HE HIMSELF is now with the Jiva as regards supporting it and helping it accomplish this task. This birth itself will be the last if self realization is attained while alive or at the time of departure. Hence one should seize this golden opportunity and make the best out of it.
