Impure body?

Dhananjay • 3/5/2015
Question

Hi, Why some religionns and spirituality view the body or forms as something impure if all comes from God? It is an important part of being a human being in my opinion.

If one read Plato or Aristotle, in their philosophies they referred to the body and forms as the Good and Beautiful.

Answer

The truth, also called God, self etc. is alone real. All else is an illusion, as is a moving image on a screen; unreal and impermanent. Pursuit of the unreal cannot give happiness; it only ends in sorrow.

Man runs after flesh, mistaking it as a source of pleasure. The body, which is nothing but a bag of flesh, ever degrading day after day, filled with foul ingredients is mistaken as being beautiful and pleasurable under the action of 'Maya' (cosmic illusion), by the ignorant mind. To ward away this false concept and instill truth, the body has been depicted as the foul bag of flesh it is, to the one in quest of the truth.

The impermanent body has not been recognized as being of substance in any school of thought.

ॐ तत् सत्
(That Supreme being is the absolute truth)
