Question

QUESTION: Hello,

As someone from India, how would you define the indian concept of Kundalini energy? Is it related to the sexual instinct? It says that if kundalini doesnt awake, there is no enlightnment.

Thanks

ANSWER: It is only by the grace of the Lord that man realizes the truth about himself (through Enlightenment). The manifestation of this grace is called by various names, for the sake of understanding. The 'Kundalini' energy is nothing but the representation of this grace in the world of man and matter.

ॐ तत् सत्
(That Supreme being is the absolute truth)

QUESTION: Thanks

But about the kundalini energy there is much talk in yoga and other schools like Tantra which say that this is a very esoteric and secret thing only for few people. SO thats why I asked, in general can we say it is the equivalent of the holy spirit in christian tradition?

Answer

1. Till the grace of the higher power is not directly manifest as regards a person, as in realizing the knowledge of the truth, he/she will have no inclination and no aptitude to think and move towards the self. So in the layman's terms, this is objectively described by the statement -"Kundalini awakening is not for everyone".

When the Lord bestows HIS grace, the very same person gets the mind and inclination to slowly give up attachment for the world and go in quest of the truth. The same person is then termed by the world as belonging to "The set of few deserving people". So it is all HIS play, which one eventually follows, for one is ALWAYS the Atman (self) in truth, separateness only being an illusion, the effect of 'Avidya' (ignorance).

2. The Supreme, also the Holy spirit, in manifestation, as energy responsible for taking man towards realization is what Kundalin1i is, call it by whatever name one may.

ॐ तत् सत्
(That Supreme being is the absolute truth)
