Brahmacharya for social service/improvement

Question

Dear Mr.Dhananjay,
Much thanks for your service here. I have read all your past answers. Even though, there is no scientific proof for the evolution of a special medha nadi, at some deep subconscious level, it all makes sense to me.

I am 25 yrs old and I am curently in my first week of Brahmacharya and intend to proceed to become a Urdhvareta yogi.

But I beleive I have another far reaching ambition/ desire to fulfill, and that is to build a economic superpower out of my company and focus that financial/economic power into improving the condition of our morally corrupt society and influence the political Government to do what is right and what is dharma. In short, I have made my life a mission to mould and have an impact on our country's future for the good and to use all that I amass to improve and help the life of men who cant do it for themselves. This is a long and arduous journey but this is what consumes my inner fire day and night.

This constructive desire naturally leaves me very little room for negative thoughts and makes my pursuit in Brahmacharya very easy. But I have not been stricly celibate in the past and have been involved in recreational sex with a number of  women who were attracted to me, in the past.

My question is whether if I start practicing now, would I be able to develop a "Brahmacharya" strength strong enough to enable me to achieve this huge and Gargantaun task that I have taken up as my life's mission. I have come to understanding that I need very little materialistic things to live happily but I want to amass a great ecnonomic and financial power and use it to wipe away corruption and greed in the Indian society.

Kindly guide me with your knowledgeable advice

Answer

1. Modern science has not reached perfection as it is purely physical in nature. It has no idea of the meta-physical and subtler forces of the universe. The things claimed by modern science a few decades ago are now refuted by science itself. Similarly, many observations which are proclaimed today will be stated to be incorrect a few decades down the line. This occurs due to lack of true knowledge and understanding, which doesnot come as long as the physical plane is not crossed.

Yoga on the other hand is a perfect science. The Science of Yoga is based on direct perception/realization of the ancient sages who derived this knowledge in the state of Samadhi (super-consciousness). This science is sure about the facts garnered and has irrevocably adhered to the same without any change from the past thousands of years. The Yogi-s never go back on what they proclaim and say that these facts hold well unto eternity. They are sure about what they say and never withdraw their observations. The books on Yoga written by the ancients are testimony to this fact beyond doubt. They stand strong and firm to this day without the slightest change. This is so because the knowledge derived in Samadhi is perfect in nature and free from defect or limitation. The normal intellect in the waking state of consciousness cannot discern facts to the degree attained in Samadhi. This is because the intellect and mind are limited in nature, unlike the Atman who is infinite and unlimited. A Yogi who connects to the knowledge of things directly from the Atman gets perfect and final knowledge which cannot change any further, while that developed by the intellect of a scientist is imperfect, limited and always subject to change since it is not final and complete. Hence, trying to correlate the science of Yoga with modern science will not be of much use. Modern science is still at the tip of the iceberg, while the science of Yoga has reached the bedrock, is complete and has no further to go.

2. Take up the practice of honest and sincere Yoga & Brahmacharya as suggested in past answers with devotion to God. There is no means higher than Brahmacharya as regards attainment of the highest degree of human potential. This energy can then be used in the field of one’s choice.

3. Completely give up all forms of recreational sexual activity (including related thoughts/fantasy) and practice perfect, unbroken Brahmacharya to the best possible degree. It will take a few years for the past Vasana-s (impressions) to dissolve to a considerable extent and then only will the true, priceless benefits of Brahmacharya actually start shining. One should be patient and very tenacious in this practice with absolute reverence and belief to the concept. Then alone is progress possible.

4. This is as much as one can do. If God’s will is concurrent with one’s will as regards the objectives you have mentioned, it will translate into reality. Ultimately, what HE wills alone transpires, for this world and its people are his creation. There is however no harm in putting our might in the required direction with a selfless and well wishing objective.

ॐ तत् सत्
(That Supreme being is the absolute truth)
