IBS queries

Question

Dear Dhananjay,

I will follow the measure you outlined for curing my horrible IBS. During this time, are there any few supplements you would recommend to allow the mind to work well and not get distracted by the body during this time? Else mind is very distracted.

Second, suppose the problem is cured after a few months or years. Does the problem basically prevent me from having kids in the future? I don't want it to recur as it is currently ruining my life.

Third, I am about to undergo very rigorous graduate studies now. Will stress worsen the problem, and if so, how should I deal with the new demands?

Finally, I would like to understand the root source of the problem. Is thick/dry stool with difficulty/incomplete evacuation a problem arising due to lack of intestine mobility, liver issues, or something else? I am trying to understand how sadhana will help and I should emphasize any yoga practices to facilitate progress.

Thank you
Moo

Answer

1. The mind is to be controlled through Sadhana, the described Yogic lifestyle and a detached attitude.

2. Yoga Sadhana improves health and fertility and not the reverse.

3. When work is carried out with a calm, detached mind, there is no question of stress.

4. Do your Sadhana and be patient. Things will resolve at the destined time.
