Hello,
In an ancient post it says: 2. 'Kundalini Awakening' is the symbolic representation of the rise of consciousness. It occurs automatically without any effort in case of the Yogi who practices Brahmacharya & meditation for self-realization. Different mantra-s and the corresponding letters that representing each 'Chakra' (confluence of energy channels) are used to awaken each particular chakra by those who specifically practice 'Kundalini Yoga'.
-I would like to ask if you can awaken kundalini without the use of the specific kundalini yoga? I mean can you awaken it by repetitive prayer or just concentrating in emptiness like zazen?
2-In other religions like christian mysticism which possess no tantric teachings, many medieval monks acquired many superpowers but at the same time they didnt know anything about kundalini energy or yoga, how can it be?

1. What matters is the rise of consciousness into higher domains and finally into the Atman (self). The means are many. Prayer with Bhakti (devotion) can also be one of the means.
2. How do you know they didn't? One always becomes aware of the truth as one progresses towards the self. Not proclaiming the same with similar names does not mean ignorance. 'Consciousness' is only ONE, call it by what name you may. If you read the 'Bible' and digest its essence, this query will not arise.
