Question

Hello Sir,
I have seen in many books that its written that after chanting "om namah shivaye" mantra ,our sins are destroyed. So is it that-if a person who is not following brahmcharya dharma and chanting the "om namah shivaye" mantra, his sin of not following brahmcharya gets destroyed?
Is chanting "om namah shivaye" mantra a spiritual practice?
Please answer these questions in points.

Answer

Through constant chanting of the name of the Lord, one's mind gradually de-links from the Ego, resulting in 'Bhakti' (devotion) and trust in the Almighty. This eventually takes one closer to the Atman (self). That itself results in Brahmacharya. Where then is the question of not following 'Brahmacharya'? Isn't proximity to the Lord itself Brahmacharya?
