Effect of breaking Brahmacharya

Dhananjay • 5/3/2013
Question

Hello,

When you practice bramacharya but then you break it conciously you get a bad change in your face and countenance very rapidly, why is it? When you dont practice bramacharya, it doesnt happen, why? Can someone who break bramacharya after having know it become worse than someone who never practiced it?

Thanks

Answer

1. The practice of Brahmacharya takes you that much closer to your true self. A break takes you that much farther. The Atman (self) is your very self, being the source of your life. Hence it follows that distancing oneself from this source takes life energy out of the body & mind (which have no independent existence) to that extent.

2. It happens immaterial of whether your practice or don't. The change is more perceptible in the former and less in the latter.
