'Brahmakara Vritti'

Dhananjay • 3/17/2013
Question

Hello Sir,
Please accept my obeisance. What is brahmakar vritti? Is it kind of special bliss or feeling when one nears self realization? Does it go with the course of brahmacharya? What is the criteria for achieving it.

Answer

'Brahmakara Vritti' refers to that last and penultimate state of the mind before eternal and irreversible dissolution into the 'Parabrahman' (Almighty). Here the mind has lost all its 'Chitta vritti-s' (modifications) and has taken form of the absolute as a limitless expanse: 'Brahman'- Lord, 'Akara'- Form -- Meaning it has taken the infinite form of the Almighty who is beyond form, being limitless.

When even this state of the mind dissolves completely into the truth and there is no mind at all for ever, then the self rests as the self in its irreversible state of eternal liberation. When the Yoga for liberation is carried out correctly with unbroken Brahmacharya, this state is eventually attained.

ॐ तत् सत्
(That Supreme being is the absolute truth)
