Non-religious people and the self

Dhananjay • 9/17/2014
Question

DO you think self realization is attainable by people who have no particular religion in today's world? Is there self realized beings in Africa or native american with no official religions, at least not recognised as the big religions?

Answer

1. Religion is one step of the Ego in the journey to the self and not mandatory.

2. Yes, there are Enlightened beings who did not belong to any religion earlier.

After Enlightenment, there is nothing called a religion for realized beings as the one who assumed belonging no longer exists. Such a being does not have a gender, caste, creed, religion or other classifications. Pure consciousness alone functions from the body, till the time to vacate it arrives. Then it is absorbed into the universal cosmos, without trace.
