Brahmacharya and excercise

Dhananjay • 3/18/2014
Question

Hello,

What is the difference between losing energy by incontinence or ejaculation and losing energy after running for example? For me both are the same.

ANd when the body stops producing semen because of brahmacharya does it means the body stop aging?

Answer

1. Through incontinence and lack of proper transmutation, the vital seed of life is lost, resulting in debility and degeneration.

2. The tiredness or fatigue which follows moderate exercise is temporary and short lived. One emerges fresh and more energetic in due course, which is not the case with losing the seed.

3. After becoming an Urdhvareta through proper Brahmacharya, the debilitation of the body which is normally accompanied with age rapidly slows down. To the extent that one spends time in communion with pure consciousness (Samadhi), debility correspondingly reduces.
