Demigods and normal humans
Question
QUESTION: Hello,
Concerning the last post, in the demigods stories are they talking of real physical beings? The gods of mythologies are spiritual beings (invisible to humans) and not physical but the demigods which were supposed to be their progeny were physical beings here on earth. They were called demigods or hybrids because they descended from a god and a virgin woman at the same time and so hybrid. Yogis like Ramakrishna for their part are considered 100% human with normal parents so there is difference between yogis and demigods.
ANSWER: 1. It is the evolutionary level of the Jiva which matters and not the medium of birth or the kind of body of residence.
2. As the Yogi evolves towards the Atman (self), he promotes and passes through these ranks, which are nothing but evolutionary milestones, though occupying the physical vehicle. However, as long as a rank exists, it is still in the realm of Maya and therefore unreal. The truth is beyond these ranks. It is the state of no rank & the truth behind all ranks. It is pure consciousness, undifferentiated and infinite.

Thanks very much but in relation to the possibility of this medium of birth for a being because of reincarnation, that possibility of birth is pretty scary for a western mind in general. So even if the medium is not important but it is still a very strange thing because the natural medium for birth is between a man and woman. DO you let me ask if the stream of gold in this story is similar to what yoga call tejas or ojas energy? http://www.theoi.com/Heros/Perseus.html#Danae
Answer
Setting aside matters concerning reincarnation or mediums which one has no first hand experience about, first persevere to know who you are. All questions get answered that way. Thinking about abstract, metaphysical concepts and debating about these serves no purpose. It is a waste of time and energy. Realizing the self alone matters.
